According to experts, the Apple Podcasts update brings the service closer in functionality to competitors such as Spotify, YouTube, and Netflix.

"Twenty years ago, Apple helped take podcasting mainstream by adding podcasts to iTunes, and more than a decade ago, we introduced the dedicated Apple Podcasts app," said Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of services.

According to him, in the updated Apple Podcasts app, users will be able to switch between watching and listening to episodes from a single feed. They will also be able to use picture-in-picture mode and download video episodes for offline viewing.

The new format also introduces dynamic video ad insertion. At the same time, Apple stated it will not charge content creators or providers for distributing video podcasts.

Apple is preparing several new products and services.

The company plans a large-scale implementation of artificial intelligence in its upcoming products. Together with Google, it officially confirmed that updated versions of the Siri voice assistant and other generative features will use Google Gemini models.

Analysts also expect rapid growth in the AI-powered smart glasses segment in the coming years. According to their estimates, a major contribution to this trend will come from the launch of Apple Glasses, which could offer three key advantages.

In addition, Apple previously presented its own artificial intelligence model capable of analyzing and editing images at a near-human level.
