Russia carried out massive attacks across Ukraine last week, using around 1,300 strike drones, nearly 1,200 guided aerial bombs, and nine missiles of various types.
This was reported by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
He said one of the hardest-hit areas was Odesa region. All services are continuing to work to restore normal living conditions in the affected regions as quickly as possible.
The president emphasized that Ukraine is countering Russian terror on multiple fronts, both militarily and diplomatically. Notably, this week an important decision was made regarding financial and security guarantees for Ukraine: the European Council approved 90 billion euros for 2026–2027.
In addition, Ukraine continues to receive significant support from its partners — including aid packages from Norway and Japan, as well as an agreement with Portugal on the joint production of naval drones.
"Ukraine and US negotiation teams continue working on ways to end this war with a just peace. Our long-range sanctions against Russia are also working as intended. The aggressor must understand that war brings no dividends and always returns to where it came from," the president said.
Attacks on Ukraine
As a reminder, on the night of Sunday, December 21, the Russian army struck Rivne region, damaging a civilian facility. On December 20, Russian forces carried out an airstrike on the Bashtanka district of Mykolaiv, likely using guided bombs. One man was injured, and warehouses were destroyed.
Additionally, Russia struck the Pivdennyi port in Odesa, hitting storage tanks. According to the State Emergency Service, the previous enemy attack in Odesa region killed eight people and injured 27 more. Due to multiple terrorist attacks on energy infrastructure by Russia, a state-level emergency has been declared in Odesa region.
