"There were three attacks on Azerbaijan's energy infrastructure in Ukraine, and there were also three attacks on Azerbaijan's embassy in Ukraine," Aliyev said.
He explained that after the first strike, Baku considered it might have been accidental. The country provided Russia with all the coordinates of its diplomatic missions in Ukraine, including consular offices, cultural centers, and other facilities. Despite this, the attacks were repeated.
"Despite this, two more attacks took place. So this was a deliberate attack on Azerbaijan's diplomatic mission," the Azerbaijani president said.
Aliyev added that Azerbaijan responded with "special" statements, informed its ambassador, and issued a diplomatic note.
Summarizing, he described Russia's actions as an unfriendly step.
Russia's answer
The Russian Foreign Ministry later responded, saying they were surprised by the statements from Baku.
"When planning strikes, detailed combat data control is carried out to avoid harming civilians, taking into account the locations of diplomatic missions," TASS cited the ministry.
Previous Russian strikes on Azerbaijani sites in Ukraine
On August 8, Russian Shahed drones hit an Azerbaijani oil company SOCAR oil depot in Ukraine's Odesa region, causing a fire and damaging a diesel fuel pipeline.
On the night of August 18, the SOCAR facility in the Odesa region was struck again, damaging all tanks, the pumping station, operator and weighing rooms, engineering facilities, and the perimeter fence.
Earlier, Russia struck gas transport infrastructure near Ukraine's border with Romania, through which gas from the US and Azerbaijan was supplied to Ukraine.
In addition, on the night of November 14, a Russian strike on Kyiv damaged the Azerbaijani embassy.
