The Embassy of Ukraine has provided the US State Department with detailed information on all attacks that occurred since Russia "agreed" to an energy truce, Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Olga Stefanishyna said while speaking to the press on the sidelines of Ukrainian Week in Washington, Suspilne reported.

"The Embassy today (February 3 – ed.) provided the State Department with detailed information on all attacks that have taken place since the announcement of the so-called Russian agreement to a truce. Very detailed information was provided today following the overnight attack," Stefanishyna said.

According to her, the information on Russian strikes was prepared in cooperation with the Armed Forces and the Ministry of Energy.

Stefanishyna is confident that these data will affect the negotiations, as they undermine Russia's position. The ambassador hopes that the American side will choose an approach of "fewer illusions, more pressure."

The ambassador also said that the work of the Ukrainian delegation will primarily focus on lobbying in Congress for a bill on sanctions against countries that purchase Russian energy resources. At least three such bills have been registered in both chambers, and the embassy is urging them to be put to a vote.

Energy truce

On January 29, United States President Donald Trump said that he had asked Russian President Vladimir Putin to temporarily halt attacks on Ukrainian cities and energy facilities due to a sharp drop in temperatures, and the proposed pause was to last one week.

At the same time, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said that Moscow agreed to stop strikes only until February 1.

The energy truce began on January 30, but already on the night of February 3, Russians launched massive strikes on energy facilities in several regions of Ukraine. As a result of the massive attack, a large number of Ukrainians were left without heating during severe frost.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russia violated the so-called energy truce and waited for the coldest days of this winter to launch the attack. According to him, Moscow may be betting on war.

At the same time, United States President Donald Trump said that there was no violation of the agreements.
