81 clashes since beginning of day, most in Pokrovsk direction - General Staff

In the border areas of the Sumy and Chernihiv regions, the enemy continues to conduct terrorist attacks using artillery shelling from the territory of Russia.

From the side of the Belgorod region, enemy aviation has struck with guided aerial bombs on the territory of the Kharkiv region, targeting areas of populated settlements such as Lyptsi, Mali Prokhody, and Hlyboke.

At the same time, Ukrainian soldiers have repelled four enemy assaults so far in the areas of Vovchansk, Starytsia, and Lyptsi, with two ongoing attacks.

In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy attempted four unsuccessful assaults on the positions of our units near Berestove and Pishchane.

Today in the Lyman direction, the enemy has somewhat intensified. They conducted 12 attacks on Ukrainian positions near Hrekivka, Nevske, Makiivka, and Terny. All clashes ended without success for the enemy.

The enemy continues to seek weaknesses in our defense in the Siversk direction. Near Verkhniokamianske, Viyimka, and Rozdolivka, they launched three attacks but faced fierce resistance. The losses of Russia are being clarified.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Russia conducted three unsuccessful assaults near Chasove Yar, Hryhorivka, and Andriivka. The enemy supported their offensive actions with assault aviation, striking with unguided aviation rockets near Chasiv Yar.

In the Toretsk direction, the number of enemy attacks has increased to 9. The enemy is attacking near populated settlements: Pivnichne, where our defenders repelled 5 attacks (one attack is ongoing), Pivdennе, and New York, where two attacks were repelled. Fighting is ongoing in two locations.

The aggressor's aviation is actively engaged, including bombing raids on the populated settlement of New York, where the enemy dropped eight aerial guided bombs (KABs) , and also shelled this area with unguided air-to-ground rockets.

In the Pokrovsk direction, there have been the highest number of engagements. Since the beginning of the day, the enemy has attempted 29 times to displace our defenders from their positions in areas such as Vozdvyzhenka, Novooleksandrivka, Timofiyivka, Karlivka, Kalynove, Yevhenivka, Yasnobrodivka, Progres, and Novoselivka Persha. The defense forces are holding the line and have repelled 21 enemy attacks, with eight battles still ongoing.

The enemy's efforts are concentrated near Novooleksandrivka and Novoselivka Persha. The latter, along with Oleksandropil, have been struck by NAR rockets from assault aviation. Russian forces also inflicted damage on the area of the settlement Mynohrad with KABs.

Four battles have concluded near Netaylove, Kostiantynivka, and Paraskevivka in the Kurakhove direction.

In the Vremivka direction, fighting continues near Vodyane. Our units have repelled five enemy attacks. Defense forces are taking measures to prevent the advancement of Russians into our territory. Russian troops have used five guided aerial bombs in this direction and also employed NAR rockets, particularly near Urozhaine, Rivnopol, and Staromaiorske.

In the Orikhiv direction, three enemy assaults near Mala Tokmachka and Novoandriivka have been repelled.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Russia dropped seven KAB bombs on Tiahynka and its vicinity.

Frontline situation

According to the General Staff, during the past day, July 8, there were 141 combat engagements recorded on the frontline. In the Pokrovsk direction, 43 enemy assault and offensive actions were repelled.

Russia's losses in the war in Ukraine over the past day amounted to 1,220 troops. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the aggressor has lost approximately 553,410 soldiers.

Additionally, yesterday the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed 7 tanks, 19 combat armored vehicles, 49 artillery systems, and other enemy equipment.
