Zelenskyy wants to see EU representatives at his meeting with Putin

Ukraine has proposed holding a high-level meeting with representatives of Russia. It is a new round of talks, which should be attended by the leaders of Ukraine, Russia, the United States, Türkiye, and European countries, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Zelenskyy said that he had a substantive conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron.
He noted that during the talks, he informed his French counterpart about the results of the third meeting with the Russian side in Istanbul.
"We managed to agree on a new prisoner exchange. We are awaiting a response to our proposal to hold a meeting at the highest level by the end of August. Representatives from Europe must be certainly present at this meeting," the president of Ukraine emphasized.
Zelenskyy and Macron also discussed Ukraine's European integration path in detail and agreed to work on finding solutions that would allow the first negotiation cluster to be opened soon.
"It is important that Ukraine and Moldova continue to move forward in sync. We also discussed the work of Ukraine’s anti-corruption infrastructure, which is fully operational," Zelenskyy wrote.
According to the president, his draft law guarantees the independence and effectiveness of anti-corruption bodies and prevents Russian influence on them.
Talks in Istanbul
On July 23, Ukrainian and Russian delegations held the third round of talks in Istanbul.
Among other things, Ukraine once again proposed to hold a meeting between Zelenskyy and Russian president Vladimir Putin with the participation of Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and US president Donald Trump by the end of August.

The Kremlin has already answered whether Moscow would agree to a meeting between Putin and Zelenskyy in August.
