Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of July 9

Over the last day, July 8, 141 combat clashes took place in Russia-Ukraine frontline. In the Pokrovsk sector, 43 Russian assaults and offensive actions were repelled, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
"Yesterday, the aviation and missile forces and artillery of the Defense Forces hit one artillery system and four areas of concentration of enemy personnel," the General Staff writes.
Sectors updates
Russians continued to be active in the Kharkiv sector. Defense forces repelled nine attacks near the settlements of Tykhe, Vovchansk, Hlyboke, Starytsia, and Sotnytskyi Kozachok.
In the Kupiansk sector, the number of enemy attacks increased to seven over the day. The enemy attacked near Berestove, Pishchane, and Stelmakhivka.
In the Lyman sector, 14 Russian attacks were repelled near Hrekivka, Nevske, and Makiivka in the Luhansk region and Terny in the Donetsk region.
In the Siversk sector, seven assault attacks were repelled near Spirne, Verkhnekamianske, and Vyimka in the Donetsk region.
In the Kramatorsk sector, 11 enemy attempts to break through the defense in the areas of Bohdanivka, Hryhorivka, Bila Hora, Andriivka, Vesele, and Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region were stopped.
In the Toretsk sector, the enemy attacked 19 times near the localities of Dyliivka, Pivdenne, Pivnichne, Toretsk, and New York.
In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 43 assault and offensive attacks in the areas of Novooleksandrivka, Vozdvyzhenka, Yevhenivka, Kalynove, Tymofiivka, Novoselivka Persha, Yasnobrodivka, Karlivka and Umanske in the Donetsk region.
In the Kurakhove sector, the enemy attacked nine times in the areas of Netailove, Heorhiivka, Krasnohorivka, Paraskoviivka, and Kostiantynivka.
In the Vremivka sector, 10 attacks were repelled near Vodiane, Kostiantynivka, Urozhaine, Rivnopillia, Novosilka, and Makarivka in the Donetsk region. Enemy aircraft were active.
In the Huliaipole sector, Russians launched 18 unguided aerial missiles near Chumatske in the Zaporizhzhia region.
In the Orikhiv sector, nine attacks were repelled in the areas of Mala Tokmachka, Robotyne, Novoandriivka, and Shcherbaky in the Zaporizhzhia region.
In the Prydniprovskyi sector, the Defense Forces repelled four enemy attacks in the area of Krynky.
Russia's losses in the war
Yesterday, July 8, enemy losses amounted to 1,220 manpower over the course of the day. The defense forces also destroyed 7 tanks, 19 armored combat vehicles, 49 artillery systems, and more.
