Russia's losses in Ukraine as of July 9: Over 1,200 soldiers and 49 artillery systems more

Losses for Russia in the war in Ukraine from July 8 to July 9 amounted to 1,220 soldiers. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has lost approximately 553,410 soldiers. In addition, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 19 combat armored vehicles and 49 artillery systems within the day, according to the data from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The overall combat losses of the enemy from February 24, 2022, to July 9, 2024, approximately totaled:
- personnel - 553,410 (+1,220) individuals eliminated;
- tanks - 8,178 (+7);
- armored personnel vehicles - 15,704 (+19);
- artillery systems - 15,015 (+49);
- MLRS - 1,115;
- anti-aircraft warfare systems - 880;
- aircraft - 361 (+1);
- helicopters - 326;
- UAV operational-tactical level - 11,922 (+29);
- cruise missiles - 2,389 (+36);
- warships/boats - 28;
- submarines - 1;
- vehicles & fuel tanks - 20,212 (+62);
- special equipment - 2,516 (+13).
According to ISW data, Defense Forces have regained positions in Chasiv Yar, Donetsk region.
The General Staff reported that Russian forces are attempting to use air support and the advantage in manpower for assaults.
