The number of victims of the Russian strike on Ternopil on November 19 has risen to 35. The identity of one of the deceased was established through DNA testing, the press service of the National Police in the Ternopil region reported.

"With the help of DNA analysis, law enforcement officers were able to identify another deceased person who had been considered missing. It is a 73-year-old man who lived on Stus Street," the statement said.

As of November 28, 35 people have been killed as a result of the missile strike, including 7 children.

Five people, including one child, are still considered missing. Investigative actions continue.

Attack on Ternopil

On the morning of November 19, at around 7:00, Russian forces attacked the city with missiles and drones.

As a result of a direct hit by an X-101 missile, a residential high-rise building suffered massive destruction — a collapse from the 9th to the 3rd floors. Another apartment building caught fire.

It was initially reported that 28 people were killed in the strike on the high-rise building, including three children, and more than 90 were injured.

Later, it became known that the number of victims had increased. During emergency search operations on November 21, three more bodies were found — a woman and two children.

Rescue operations lasted four days and ended on November 23. As of that day, 34 deaths had been confirmed. Six people — two men, three women, and one small child — were still considered missing.

From November 19 to 21, the city declared Days of Mourning for the victims.
