Russian forces attacked Ukraine overnight on May 7 with 102 attack drones of various types from seven directions. Hits and falling debris were recorded in several regions, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.

As noted, the attack began as early as 19:00 on May 6.

The enemy launched 102 attack UAVs at Ukraine, including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas drones, as well as Parodiya decoy drones.

Drone launches were carried out from seven directions: Bryansk, Kursk, Millerovo, Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), as well as from temporarily occupied Donetsk and Hvardiiske in Crimea.

Air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine's Defense Forces.

According to preliminary data as of 08:00, air defense forces shot down or suppressed 92 enemy drones in the north and east of the country.

"Hits by 8 attack UAVs were recorded at 6 locations, as well as falling debris at 4 locations," the statement said.

The Air Force also noted that the attack is ongoing and enemy drones remain in the airspace. Ukrainians are being urged to follow safety rules.

Russian attacks on Ukraine during the silence regime

Ukraine declared a silence regime from midnight on May 6. However, Russian troops continued massive attacks on Ukrainian cities.

Immediately after the ceasefire began, explosions were heard in Dnipro. Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kryvyi Rih, and the Sumy region also came under attack.

During the daytime on May 6, Russian Shahed drones attacked the center of Sumy and hit the kindergarten building. Under rubble, rescuers found the bodies of two dead employees of the facility, while seven more people were injured.

Yesterday, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia had not stopped strikes despite Kyiv's proposal for a silence regime.

According to him, Ukraine will respond symmetrically depending on further actions of Russia.

During the night of May 7, Russian attacks continued. In Dnipro, two people were injured as a result of a drone strike, and fire broke out in a multi-story residential building.
