1 dead, multiple people injured during shooting near university in US

A shooting occurred on the campus of Tennessee State University (TSU) in Nashville, where an unknown man opened fire. As a result, there is one fatality, and ten others have been injured, according to the Telegram account (X) of the Nashville police and the American edition The Hill.
According to law enforcement, the incident occurred at the corner of Jefferson Street and 27th Avenue N. around 5:00 PM local time (approximately midnight on October 13 in Kyiv). Following this, the university reported a shooting in the campus area.
As stated by the Nashville police, a total of ten individuals with gunshot wounds are currently in local hospitals. A 24-year-old man has died.
There is currently no accurate information on who opened fire on the crowd. The police reported that at least one of the injured is suspected of being involved in the shooting.
Law enforcement also noted that the scene is secured, and all victims are being treated in area hospitals.
The tragedy occurred during a reunion event for alumni of the university in the surrounding area of the campus.
American media also highlight that this incident took place a year after other higher education institutions, including Morgan State University and Bowie State University, faced similar violence during alumni reunion celebrations.
Other instances of mass shootings in the US
In December of last year, a shooting occurred on the campus of the University of Nevada in Las Vegas, during which police reported the death of the attacker.
In February of this year, a shooting took place in Kansas City, Missouri, during celebrations for the local football team, the Chiefs' Super Bowl victory. One person was killed, and over two dozen others were injured in the incident.
It was previously reported that about a year ago, an unknown assailant carried out a mass shooting in Lewiston, Maine, resulting in the deaths of 18 people and injuries to more than fifty others. After three days of searching, the suspect in those murders was found dead.
In April 2023, nine teenagers were injured in a shooting during a post-prom party in Jasper, Texas.
It was also reported that in May 2023, a shooting occurred at a shopping mall in the suburbs of Dallas, resulting in injuries to several individuals, including a 5-year-old child among the victims.
In June of the same year, a gunman opened fire in Virginia, leading to the deaths of two people and injuring five others.
Additionally, in September of this year, a shooting took place at a school in Georgia, where an unknown assailant fired at high school students, resulting in fatalities and injuries.
