'War of robots': Ukraine's forces eliminate Russian infantrymen using ground robotic system

Ukrainian forces released a video showing the participation of a ground robotic system (GRS) in combat. The robot eliminated two Russian occupying infantrymen, according to the 32nd Brigade in a comment to RBC-Ukraine.
It is noted that GRS are sent into areas that are difficult or dangerous for regular infantry to enter. At the same time, armed robots operate very effectively.
"Each such operation saves the lives of our soldiers and is another step toward clearing Ukrainian land of the enemy," the brigade stated.
Senior Lieutenant Roman, commander of the GRS unit of the 32nd Brigade, shared details of one operation in which they managed to eliminate two Russian soldiers. Intelligence spotted two Russian infantrymen attempting to approach Ukrainian positions. A GRS armed with a machine gun was set up in an ambush.
"There was a tense moment: fog, dusk. In such a situation, the main thing is not to hit our own troops, since adjacent units are operating nearby. But we quickly confirmed: these were the enemy. Their specific route and uniform color gave them away. After that, it was a matter of technology. The turret with the machine gun acted calmly and precisely," he said.
According to the officer, it is essentially a war of robots. If a year ago the scale of FPV drone use over fiber optics was surprising, now ground drones are becoming increasingly prevalent.
"Our principle in the 32nd Steel Brigade remains unchanged: robots should fight. The machine goes where it is too dangerous for humans," Roman explained.
The soldier added that the use of GRS is accelerating, with active implementation of advanced technologies.
"Today we set up ambushes with robots, and tomorrow we will use them in assaults. This is no longer science fiction; this is our work near Pokrovsk," he summarized.
At the beginning of the video, the Armed Forces of Ukraine showed footage of Ukrainian paratroopers in the Donetsk region carrying out a complex and risky evacuation of wounded comrades using a ground robotic system.
Overall, robotic systems are becoming critically important on the modern battlefield. Vehicles are too vulnerable to drones and conventional military equipment, whereas ground robots provide a chance to save lives — both of the wounded and those rescuing them.
This was confirmed by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi. According to him, the widespread use of drones has significantly expanded the so-called “kill zone” on the front, making ground robotic systems a key element of the war of the future.
