The United States is at an impasse regarding the current international situation, states political strategist Taras Zahorodnii in a comment to the RBC-Ukraine YouTube channel.

"Why the irritation? Well, look, Trump is the kind of person he is. There's no need to bash him online, as some like to do," the expert said.

According to him, a special level of idiocy is demonstrated by those who sympathize with China. He recalled that Reuters recently reported that North Korea supplies half of Russia’s artillery shells. At the same time, he emphasized that this would be impossible without China’s tacit approval and industrial support.

"What are you talking about? They are our enemies," he said, stressing that, regardless of how one assesses US actions, only the Americans have never built concentration camps as a matter of systematic policy.

He also noted, "Even in Europe, we know who built the concentration camps. Russia is a concentration camp. China is a digital concentration camp."

The expert believes that Ukraine should act through concrete steps rather than resorting to insults. He described some of the actions taken in coordination with the US as correct, emphasizing that the Americans are currently at an impasse.

Commenting on the controversy surrounding Steve Witkoff’s statements, he added, “Forget about Witkoff already. It’s clear that everything there has failed. What five regions? What are you talking about?”

To support his point, he referred to reports by the CIA and the Pentagon, which, according to him, indicate that Ukraine’s capitulation and the collapse of its army are not foreseen.

“That’s why the army is undergoing mechanization. It should, of course, move faster — because once again, this comes down to the issue of weapons production,” the expert concluded.

Witkoff–Putin talks

Recently, US special envoy Steve Witkoff visited Russia, where he met with Russia’s investment envoy Kirill Dmitriev. Following that, he held nearly five hours of talks with Vladimir Putin.

At the same time, Reuters reported that, according to Witkoff, the quickest path to peace in Ukraine allegedly involves granting Russia ownership rights over four eastern Ukrainian regions.

Meanwhile, The Wall Street Journal recently reported a possible split within former US President Donald Trump’s team, as several of his advisers urged caution regarding Moscow’s ceasefire proposals. Despite this, according to media reports, Trump "still sides with envoy Steve Witkoff."

Yesterday, Witkoff stated that the so-called "five territories" are the "key" to ending the war in Ukraine.
