As early as this summer, Ukraine may launch its first large-scale strikes on Russian positions using domestically produced missiles. This could help deter the enemy, states military expert, Ivan Stupak, in a comment to the YouTube channel of RBC-Ukraine.

He noted that Ukraine is finalizing its own missile program, which "should have a positive effect and halt the pace of Russia’s advance."

"I assume that in July or August we may see the first more or less large-scale strikes by Ukrainian missiles on major Russian positions at a range of 150–200 km — and we won’t be asking anyone for permission to strike," Stupak clarified.

According to him, this assumption is based on statements by Ukrainian officials and information that Germany may supply certain technologies and equipment from its own missile program.

"This could speed up our domestic missile program by 20–30%, because frankly, I don’t see any other way to stop Russia," Stupak added.

Missile production in Ukraine

Back in November of last year, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine had already produced over 100 missiles.

In March, Roman Kostenko, Secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense, and Intelligence, told the YouTube channel of RBC-Ukraine that Ukraine already has Neptun missiles capable of flying more than 1,000 kilometers.
