Meta has unveiled an unusual gadget for accessing AI — the Muse Charm allows users to launch the Meta Muse agent without a smartphone. The device features its own screen and fingerprint scanner and can operate as a standalone device, according to Meta Connect 2026.
Why is Meta promoting AI gadgets?
The market for compact wearable AI devices has so far raised doubts among many consumers — gadgets such as Friend have often been met with skepticism.
Despite this, Meta has decided to enter the segment with its own device, Muse Charm.
For the tech giant, it is a relatively inexpensive way to experiment with new keychain and pendant formats, as well as an additional channel for distributing its personal AI agent, Muse.

The device looks like a modern take on the Tamagotchi — it is a lightweight, pocket-sized keychain with a built-in digital character.

Key features of Muse Charm
Visual avatar: The Muse assistant is embodied as a cute digital character known as Jolly. It appears on the gadget’s small screen.
Quick access: To start a conversation, users do not need to unlock their phone or open any apps — they simply need to touch the fingerprint scanner in the corner of the device.
Full voice stack: The gadget supports full real-time voice conversations and can analyze the user’s surroundings.
According to Mark Zuckerberg, if a person does not use smart glasses, such a keychain becomes the fastest way to ask the assistant a question or give it a task.
When will it be released?
The unveiled gadget is not yet ready for mass shipments. Meta’s engineering team still needs to finalize the internal component layout.
However, Zuckerberg assured that the device will hit store shelves before the December holidays.
