Today, March 19, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will speak with American leader Donald Trump. The day before, Trump spoke with Russia's Vladimir Putin.

“Today I will have a contact with President Trump. We will discuss the details with him today. I think the details of the next steps. We had a really good meeting between our teams. I believe that everything was going right, except for Russia, which is always unhappy when something goes right,” he said.

According to Zelenskyy, he and Trump will discuss the details of the next steps to resolve Russia's war against Ukraine. The President added that he expects to hear from Trump the details of his conversation with Putin.

“I heard some details (about the talks between Trump and Putin - ed.). Our teams have been talking from night to night, but I would like to talk about the details when I have a direct dialog with Trump. After that, I have to talk about some details. We are ready to send our technical team to discuss the next steps. I will be able to tell you when this meeting will take place and in what format a little later,” Zelenskyy said.

The last public dialog between Trump and Zelenskyy ended in conflict. On February 28, the President of Ukraine visited the White House and during their conversation, Donald Trump and US Vice President J.D. Vance argued with Zelenskyy about the war and Ukraine's alleged ingratitude.

Trump and Putin's conversation

On Tuesday, March 18, US President Donald Trump and Russia's Vladimir Putin had a long phone conversation.

The two sides said that Trump and Putin had agreed on a ceasefire on energy and infrastructure. Putin allegedly gave the order to stop attacking the Ukrainian energy sector, but on the night of March 19, Russian occupiers attacked Ukraine with drones and missiles.

In addition, Putin announced the exchange of prisoners and demanded that Ukraine stop mobilizing and rearming the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the event of a ceasefire.

The network wrote that after speaking with Putin, Trump was supposed to talk to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy soon.
