US Vice President JD Vance expressed confidence Monday that Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy would eventually agree to discuss peace with Russia after Ukraine's president conveyed a lack of respect during his televised White House meeting Friday with Trump, according to France 24, CNN, and Fox News.

As Vance stated, Zelenskyy showed a clear unwillingness to engage in the peace process sought by his US counterpart.

“He showed a clear unwillingness to engage in the peace process that President Trump has said is the policy of the American people and of their president. That’s the real breakdown," emphasized the US Vice President in his latest Fox News interview.

At the same time, he added that the President of Ukraine will have to make a deal, and this will eventually happen.

"I think Zelenskyy, wasn’t yet there. And I think, frankly, now still isn’t there, but I think he will get there eventually, he has to,” Vance said.

Vance’s comments on whether Zelenskyy could return to the White House if he said he was ready to discuss a peace plan, Vance said that if Zelenskyy engaged seriously on the details, the US would be ready to talk again.

“I think that if he called and had a serious proposal for how he was going to engage in the process. Look, some details matter that we’re already working on with the Russians. We’ve talked with some of our allies, he needs to engage seriously on the details,” Vance concluded.

US stopped military aid to Ukraine

It was reported earlier this night that US President Donald Trump has suspended all military aid to Ukraine. This includes weaponry that is not yet in Ukraine but is on its way, such as on planes, ships, and even weapons already in Europe. According to Bloomberg, the suspension will last until Ukraine's leaders demonstrate sincere commitment to peace.

Shortly after, a White House representative confirmed the suspension of aid in a comment to CNN. According to the spokesperson, the US needs its partners to be as committed to peace as Trump is.
