Zelenskyy warns allies against delaying diplomatic moves for months

Ukraine's partners sometimes delayed important decisions due to skepticism from intelligence services. However, delays in the context of modern warfare are unacceptable, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in an interview with Sky News.
The head of state pointed out that during Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, Kyiv had repeatedly signaled to Western allies that the Russians were not serious about negotiations.
"This was still under the Biden administration, and now under President Trump's administration. The issue lies in some slow decisions, you see? There is skepticism within the intelligence services of different countries. This is not only about the United States, it's also about Europe and the United States. And we all trust each other, and our intelligence services seem to work very closely, but still, there is a certain skepticism, and everything is checked very carefully many times," Zelenskyy added.
According to him, when such information is checked for too long, Ukraine loses time to build defensive lines. Now the war is being fought differently, particularly with drones, so time cannot be wasted.
"Therefore, decisions need to be made faster: trust in Ukraine must come immediately. We do not let our partners down, and we very much hope they will not let us down; that is why everything must happen more quickly. Politics is changing. Diplomatic steps can no longer be stretched out for months or even years. This is a different story. Today, you can make a phone call instead of sending letters on horseback. This is a different century. And therefore, decisions must be made faster," he emphasized.
Trump's statements
Earlier, US President Donald Trump repeatedly claimed that Russian President Vladimir Putin allegedly wanted to end the war against Ukraine.
Against this background, the American leader has repeatedly delayed decisions on tough sanctions against Russia. So far, the American president has not introduced any new measures against Russia.
Recently, Trump stated that he is ready for sanctions against Russia, but only if other NATO countries make the same decision.
