Everything that helps Russia restore its oil refining capacity must be stopped, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Call to stop Russia's oil refining recovery

The president stressed that all efforts to help Russia restore the operation of its oil refineries must be halted.

"We will also discuss this with Ukraine's ambassadors during a global meeting that will take place soon," Zelenskyy said.

The head of state announced that a global meeting with Ukrainian ambassadors will take place in the near future to discuss specific steps to increase pressure on the Russian Federation.

President Zelenskyy identified two key priorities:

  • Supplying weapons to Ukraine
  • Tightening sanctions against Russia.

He emphasized that he expects specific results in both areas, not just symbolic declarations.

Meanwhile, Russia's fuel crisis has gradually eased following a series of strikes on the country's oil refineries.

The fuel shortages caused by the attacks have started to diminish, although the consequences have not yet been fully overcome.

Earlier reports said Russia's oil refining output had fallen to its lowest level in 21 years due to successful Ukrainian strikes on the country's fuel infrastructure.

Oil processing volumes dropped to below 4 million barrels per day, the lowest level since 2005.
