To defeat Russian President Vladimir Putin and end the war in Ukraine, the United States and the Coalition of the Willing must act together, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at a press conference after the Coalition of the Willing meeting.

"We are not finding and searching how to stop Putin and how to finish this war without the US. Our plan is to make strong steps together," Zelenskyy said.

According to Zelenskyy, the Russian leader wants to divide Ukraine and its allies and to make them weaker.

Zelenskyy said that practical pressure on Putin comes primarily from sanctions, including the 19th package, as well as US restrictions and pressure on the oil and gas sector. He added that long-range weapons also play an important role in applying pressure.

He mentioned Ukrainian long-range drones, supplemented by SCALP and Storm Shadow missiles from the UK and France. The Ukrainian President also recalled the use of ATACMS after they were provided by the United States.

Zelenskyy said that decisions on air defense would be made jointly with allies. He added that European partners and the US have already provided Patriot systems and expressed hope that Ukraine will be able to produce its own systems.

The President stressed the need for joint action, which he called the essence of the Coalition of the Willing. He added that the result would be security guarantees, for which the United States is needed.

Coalition of the Willing

On October 24, a meeting of the Coalition of the Willing took place in London.

During the summit, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer called on Ukraine's allies to increase the supply of long-range weapons to strengthen Kyiv's position ahead of winter.

French President Emmanuel Macron also said that coalition members should support Ukraine’s energy resilience and maintain pressure on Russia.

Starmer added that the Coalition of the Willing had developed a five-point peace plan for Ukraine until the end of 2025.
