Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief. Among other topics, the creation of Ukrainian ballistic missiles was discussed, the President stated in his evening address.

According to Zelenskyy, the meeting included reports on equipping Ukrainian brigades and staffing military units. The Ukrainian missile program was discussed in detail.

"The task is to accelerate the development of Ukrainian ballistic missiles as much as possible. Our long-range capabilities are a clear and effective security guarantee for Ukraine," Zelenskyy said.

Ukrainian ballistic missiles

In August last year, President Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine had successfully tested its first domestically produced ballistic missile.

Mykhailo Podolyak, an advisor to the head of the Presidential Office, said the missile may have a range of up to 700 kilometers.

Meanwhile, Oleksandr Kamyshin, the President’s advisor on strategic affairs, recently stated that Ukrainian ballistic missiles are already being produced in serial batches.

According to Herman Smetanin, Ukraine’s Minister for Strategic Industries, the country uses this type of weaponry every month.
