Ukraine is preparing diplomatic changes to expedite weapons deliveries from its international partners, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The head of state identified three key priorities that require faster progress: reaching an agreement with the United States on licenses to produce Patriot air defense systems, working with European partners to develop a European-made anti-ballistic missile system, and advancing other joint defense projects.

He also highlighted military aid packages that have already been announced but have not yet been fully implemented.

"There should not be weeks between the announcement of a support package for Ukraine and its implementation. This is the responsibility of everyone in the state involved in diplomatic work, first and foremost," Zelenskyy said.

The president stressed that accelerating the implementation of existing agreements is essential because Russia continues to attack Ukraine every day, and Ukrainian forces need more capabilities and equipment to protect people's lives from Russian aggression.

Strikes over past day

Russia launched a ballistic missile attack on Ukraine today, with Kyiv as the primary target. In addition, Russian forces carried out what Zelenskyy described as a "horrific" guided bomb attack on Sumy and a missile strike on Odesa. The president expressed his condolences to the families of those killed.

Throughout the day, Shahed drones and other strike drones also targeted the Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, Donetsk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia regions.

Earlier, it was reported that during the NATO summit in Ankara, Donald Trump said the United States would allow Ukraine to produce Patriot systems under license, with Poland expected to play a key role in localizing production.

Zelenskyy previously stressed that Ukrainian ministries must begin the technical work on the licensing process without delay so production can start as quickly as possible.
