Zelenskyy: UN cannot end war, there is peace formula for that
The United Nations cannot resolve the issues of war and peace. However, the Ukrainian peace formula exists for this purpose, according to the speech of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the UN General Assembly.
"Unfortunately, at the UN it is impossible to truly and fairly resolve issues of war and peace because too much depends on the Security Council on the veto power. When an aggressor exercises veto power, the UN is powerless to stop the war," the president emphasized.
However, he pointed out that this is exactly why Ukraine developed the peace formula.
"But the peace formula can achieve this—again, it has no veto power. This is why it's the best opportunity to achieve peace—everyone is equal, and it is effective and comprehensive," he stressed.
As a reminder, Ukraine has initiated its own peace efforts for the diplomatic resolution of the war. This includes the peace formula and the Peace Summit for its implementation.
Meanwhile, several countries have proposed their own "peace plans" regarding the war in Ukraine, including China and Brazil. Their proposals focus on calls for de-escalation and the resumption of direct dialogue without demanding Russia’s withdrawal.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy rejected these alternative peace plans, calling them "destructive."
