Today, 20 November, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed achieving peace in Ukraine with US Secretary of the Army Daniel Driscoll. They also discussed work on the points of the peace plan, according to Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"We discussed options for achieving real peace, the sequencing of our work and formats for dialogue, as well as new impulses for diplomacy. Our teams – of Ukraine and the United States – will work on the provisions of the plan to end the war," the President emphasised.

He said he informed Driscoll about the Russian strike on Ternopil with a Kh-101 missile manufactured in 2025.

"It contains 175 foreign components that are still reaching Russia in circumvention of sanctions. We count on the support of the United States in restricting all such schemes," Zelenskyy noted.

He added that he handed the Secretary of the Army materials containing information on manufacturers of critical components, as well as the countries of origin of those parts.

"Peace is needed, and we appreciate the efforts of President Trump and his team aimed at restoring security in Europe. Ukraine defends lives and independence thanks to the courage of our people, our unity within the state, and the assistance from our partners," Zelenskyy said.

US peace plan

On November 19, media reports emerged that the United States, with the involvement of Russian officials, had prepared a peace plan for Ukraine. It was drafted by US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Kirill Dmitriev, the envoy of the Russian President.

Western media reported that the plan reflected Moscow's ultimatum-like demands toward Ukraine. It calls for full Russian control over Donbas and a reduction in the size of the Ukrainian army.

Today, on November 20, the peace plan was officially handed over to Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The Presidential Office stressed that Ukraine will support meaningful proposals aimed at achieving peace.
