Zelenskyy to travel to USA on working visit on December 11
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will travel to the United States on Monday, December 11. There, he will meet with U.S. President Joe Biden, according to a post from the Office of the President.
"On December 11, Volodymyr Zelenskyy will arrive to the United States for a working visit. Ukraine's President will meet with US President Joe Biden and hold a series of meetings and negotiations," the statement said.
It is noted that Zelenskyy will focus on ensuring the unity of the United States, Europe, and the world around supporting Ukraine in defense against Russian aggression and strengthening the international order based on rules and respect for the sovereignty of each nation.
Among the key topics in the negotiations in Washington will be the continuation of defense cooperation between Ukraine and the United States, including joint projects in the production of weapons and air defense systems, as well as coordination of efforts between the two states in the coming year.
Meeting of Zelenskyy and Biden
The White House has announced that the meeting between the presidents will take place on December 12.
"President Biden has invited President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine to the White House for a meeting on Tuesday, December 12 to underscore the United States’ unshakeable commitment to supporting the people of Ukraine as they defend themselves against Russia’s brutal invasion," the statement reads.
Zelenskyy's visit to Argentina
Currently, Zelenskyy is on a working visit to Argentina. He traveled to Buenos Aires for the inauguration of the President of Argentina, which took place on December 10.
On his way to Argentina, Zelenskyy managed to meet with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Cape Verde. This is the first meeting of leaders in the history of bilateral relations between the two countries.
