Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will visit Paris for a meeting with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron. The Ukrainian leader's visit to France is scheduled for Monday, November 17, according to BFM TV.
According to the French side, the meeting aims to underscore France's longstanding commitment to Ukraine and to strengthen the momentum of negotiations on security guarantees that Kyiv receives within the framework of the Coalition of the Willing.
During the visit, discussions are also planned on joint cooperation in the energy, economic, and defense sectors.
This will be Zelenskyy's ninth visit to France since the start of the full-scale war.
Coalition of the Willing
French President Emmanuel Macron said on October 24, following a meeting of the Coalition of the Willing, that France would soon provide Ukraine with a new package of military aid. The deliveries will include Mirage fighter jets and Aster munitions for SAMP/T air defense systems.
That same day, Volodymyr Zelenskyy also hinted at secret decisions by partners regarding support for Ukraine, but did not disclose details.
What is known about the Mirage 2000
The Mirage 2000 is a fourth-generation multirole fighter jet developed by the French company Dassault Aviation. It has been in service with France since 1978 and has undergone several upgrades.
The aircraft is produced in three versions: an interceptor, a strike variant, and a two-seat trainer-combat modification. Modern versions are equipped with advanced electronics and can deploy air-to-air missiles, air-to-ground missiles, and guided bombs.
The Mirage 2000 is known for its simplicity and reliability, which is why it remains in service in France and several other countries, despite the emergence of more modern aircraft.
