Zelenskyy to speak at UN Security Council meeting: Date announced
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will participate in a UN Security Council meeting. This will take place on Tuesday, September 24, as announced by the Slovenian mission to the UN.
The Security Council meeting will be dedicated to the war between Russia and Ukraine. It will take place while world leaders are in New York for the annual session of the UN General Assembly.
The meeting was requested by the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Japan, South Korea, and Malta.
What preceded
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is set to visit the United States next week with a plan for Ukraine's victory.
According to Voice of America, the Ukrainian leader will address the UN General Assembly on Wednesday, September 25. The agenda will include discussions on lifting restrictions for the Ukrainian Armed Forces to strike Russian territory with Western weapons.
During his visit to the US, Zelenskyy will also meet with President Joe Biden to present the plan for Ukraine's victory. According to the Ukrainian leader, the plan is already fully prepared.
Zelenskyy intends to present this initiative not only to President Biden but also to US presidential candidates Kamala Harris and Donald Trump.
Additionally, earlier, Mykhailo Podolyak, an advisor to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, outlined the main points of Ukraine's victory plan in a comment to the RBC-Ukraine YouTube channel.
