The Ukrainian and US presidents, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Donald Trump, will hold a phone call on Saturday, December 27, with the participation of European leaders, Axios informs.

The outlet, citing a Ukrainian official, wrote that the call is necessary to update everyone on the current progress of the negotiations.

It is noted that Zelenskyy had previously expressed hope that he and Trump would be able to "connect with the Europeans" during their meeting on Sunday, December 28.

US peace plan

December 19 to 21, Ukraine and the US held a series of consultations in Miami. The focus was on four key documents — parts of the future peace agreement. Most points were agreed upon, but the most difficult issue remains the territorial question.

RBC-Ukraine previously reported that on Sunday, December 28, Zelenskyy will meet with US President Donald Trump to discuss the peace plan. The meeting will take place at Trump’s residence in Florida.

On Wednesday, December 24, Volodymyr Zelenskyy revealed the contents of the 20-point peace plan for the first time. He stated that, in addition to the main document, there are also separate annexes by direction.

US officials have said that resolving the war in Ukraine and achieving lasting peace there is entirely possible within the next 90 days. The administration of US President Donald Trump plans to pressure both sides — Russia and Ukraine.

The aggressor country is demanding changes to the latest version of the US peace plan to end the war in Ukraine. In particular, Russia wants more restrictions on the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as well as resolutions regarding sanctions and its frozen assets.

In addition, Russia stated that the 20-point peace plan published by Volodymyr Zelenskyy "differs radically" from the version being discussed by representatives of the aggressor country and the US.
