President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy is planning to meet with US President Donald Trump, with arms supplies set to be one of the main topics of discussion, he stated during a press conference with Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen.

The Ukrainian head of state was asked to comment on a statement by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, who said that the United States would be reducing military assistance to Ukraine.

The President recalled that the US had provided strong support to Ukraine at a time when European defense production was still at a low level. He added that no one even wants to imagine what it would be like to live and fight without American assistance.

Zelenskyy also noted that Ukraine is currently receiving weapons that were approved for delivery by the Biden administration. No new aid has been confirmed at this stage.

"Indeed, one of the issues I will discuss with President Trump at our meeting is the defense package that Ukraine is ready to purchase. And we will talk about it with him. I am confident that we will have that opportunity," he emphasized.
