Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded to US President Donald Trump's accusations that Ukraine has shown "ingratitude," saying the country is grateful both to the United States and to the US President.

Zelenskyy said he spoke with French President Emmanuel Macron and addressed Trump's comments on Ukraine's alleged "ingratitude."

"The leadership of the United States is important; we are grateful for everything that America and President Trump are doing for security, and we keep working as constructively as possible. We expect new reports from our teams in Switzerland," Zelenskyy wrote.

Later, Zelenskyy reiterated his gratitude to Trump and emphasized Ukraine's appreciation for its European allies, who provide substantial support.

"Ukraine is grateful to the United States, to every American heart, and personally to President Trump for the assistance that – starting with the Javelins – has been saving Ukrainian lives. We thank everyone in Europe, in the G7, and in the G20 who is helping us defend life. It is important to preserve the support," he said.

For context, US President Donald Trump criticized Ukrainian leadership for alleged "ingratitude" amid a meeting between US and Ukrainian representatives in Geneva. He also claimed that he "inherited the war" from 46th US President Joseph Biden.

Meanwhile, talks between the Ukrainian and US delegations in Geneva have concluded. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio called the meeting "the most productive" and said the US peace plan will be adjusted based on the outcomes of the talks with Ukraine.

Earlier, Ukrainian National Security Council Secretary Rustem Umerov said the current version of Trump's plan already incorporates most of Ukraine's key priorities.
