President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke by phone with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. Key topics of the conversation included strengthening air defense and arms exports, the head of state reported.

"I spoke with German Chancellor Merz, just after a trip to the command posts of our combat brigades and Corps. I informed him about the situation on the frontline now, and we discussed which key steps can help strengthen our defense," Zelenskyy said.

During the conversation, the President of Ukraine thanked Germany for its support: since the beginning of the full-scale war, thousands of lives have been saved thanks to Berlin's assistance. Particularly valuable are the air defense systems, defense packages, and support for Ukraine's resilience.

"I thanked Friedrich for the political support of opening an export office for Ukrainian weapons in Berlin. We are actively working on the launch and will stay in contact," the head of state added.

Zelenskyy also emphasized that during the conversation, the two leaders coordinated their positions on the European track and in bilateral relations.

"I appreciate the advice and assured him that Ukraine will do everything necessary to strengthen the trust of its partners," the president added.

Zelenskyy visited the Zaporizhzhia frontline

Earlier today, November 13, the head of state arrived at the frontline. The president visited the command post of the 65th Separate Mechanized Brigade, Velykyi Luh, which is part of the 17th Corps and currently holds the defense on the Orikhiv axis.

During the visit, he received reports on the operational situation in the area, enemy activity, and Russian losses.

He also paid special attention to the development of drone units and scaling the brigade's successful experience in using ground robotic systems for evacuating the wounded.
