Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held phone conversations with French President Emmanuel Macron and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, the Financial Times reports.
An unnamed member of the Ukrainian delegation in Washington disclosed information about Zelenskyy's talks with Macron and Rutte to the FT.
The talks took place after a dispute between Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump at the White House.
Zelenskyy’s meeting with Trump
On February 28, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with US President Donald Trump at the White House.
During their conversation with journalists, the two leaders engaged in a debate over Russia’s war against Ukraine.
Trump, in particular, became angry and made harsh remarks toward Zelenskyy. The US President was reportedly dissatisfied with the fact that Zelenskyy refused to agree to a ceasefire without security guarantees.
The meeting between the two leaders ended early. After the talks, Trump claimed that Zelenskyy was not ready to make peace with Russia.
Following the dispute, several European leaders voiced their support for the Ukrainian President, assuring that Ukraine would not be left alone in its defense against Russian aggression.
