Trump says Zelenskyy is not ready for peace

US leader Donald Trump stated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is not ready for a peace deal involving the United States. He also accused Zelenskyy of disrespecting the US.
Trump noted that he had a very "meaningful" meeting with Zelenskyy at the White House today.
"Much was learned that could never be understood without conversation under such fire and pressure. It’s amazing what comes out through emotion, and I have determined that President Zelenskyy is not ready for Peace if America is involved because he feels our involvement gives him a big advantage in negotiations," he said.
However, he emphasized that he does not seek an advantage but instead wants peace.
"He (Zelenskyy - ed.) disrespected the United States of America in its cherished Oval Office. He can come back when he is ready for Peace," Trump added.
Zelenskyy’s visit to the US
On February 28, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is on an official visit to the United States.
The head of state has already held meetings with the US senators and President Donald Trump.
During a conversation with journalists, Zelenskyy argued with US President Donald Trump about Russia’s war against Ukraine.
The Ukrainian President pointed out that the war in Ukraine did not end under Barack Obama, Donald Trump, or Joe Biden. This remark sparked a sharp reaction from US Vice President J.D. Vance, and then from Trump.
