Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has categorically ruled out the possibility of ceding Ukrainian territory as part of the United States’ peace initiative, Zelenskyy made this statement while speaking with journalists.

"Are we considering giving up any territory? We have no legal right – under Ukrainian law, our Constitution, or international law, to be honest. And we also have no moral right," he emphasized.

Zelenskyy noted that Russia continues to insist on the handover of occupied territories, but Ukraine will not agree to any concessions.

"Of course, Russia insists that we give up territory. We absolutely do not want to give anything away – that is what we are fighting for. You know this very well," the president added.

At the same time, he stressed that the United States is "currently seeking a compromise," but Ukraine firmly maintains its position on territorial integrity.

US peace plan

The White House has still not released the official content of the US-proposed peace plan to end the Russian-Ukrainian war. At the same time, Western media reported that the initial version of the document contained 28 points.

According to unofficial information, the draft allegedly included strict requirements for Ukraine. In particular, it reportedly stated that Kyiv would effectively have to relinquish the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, handing them over to Russia without further fighting.

In addition, the plan supposedly included a ban on Ukraine’s NATO membership — the country would have to legally enshrine a neutral status.

After negotiations between Ukrainian and American representatives, the document was revised. Last week, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that following the discussions, an updated 20-point version had been formed.

Despite this, today the head of state stressed that there is still no common understanding with the United States regarding territorial issues.

Earlier, it was reported that the leaders of Germany, France, and the United Kingdom, during their meeting with Zelenskyy in London, emphasized the importance of achieving a "just and lasting" peace.

Moreover, according to Bloomberg, European leaders are trying to persuade Zelenskyy not to agree to a potential deal on withdrawing the Ukrainian Armed Forces from Donbas without reliable security guarantees from the United States.
