Ukraine's long-range operations are helping bring the war closer to an end, says Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The Ukrainian President said he received a report today from Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, on the situation at the front. The most intense assaults occurred in the Pokrovsk direction. Fighting also continues in other parts of Donetsk, as well as in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions.

The President separately noted Ukraine's long-range operations targeting deep into Russia.

"Defense against Russian long-range strikes and our own long-range operations. I am grateful to every Ukrainian soldier for their accuracy and ability to reach even very remote areas of Russia," Zelenskyy said.

Summing up, Zelenskyy added that the joint work of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), and intelligence agencies — all efforts that enhance Ukraine's long-range capabilities — helps bring the end of this war closer.

Ukrainian strikes on Russia

Ukraine has repeatedly struck Russian military targets, including those deep behind enemy lines.

For example, on the night of July 5, Ukraine's Defense Forces attacked the Borisoglebsk airfield in Russia's Voronezh region. This base hosts enemy aircraft such as the Su-34, Su-35S, and Su-30SM.

"A warehouse with guided aerial bombs, a training-combat aircraft, and, possibly, other aircraft was hit. The results of the strike are being clarified," the General Staff said.

Additionally, the same night, a strike hit a facility in Russia's Chuvash Republic that produces antenna arrays for Shahed drones, Iskander missiles, and other precision weapons.

This attack targeted Russia's military-industrial complex — the JSC VNIIR-Progress. According to the General Staff, the strike was part of a campaign aimed at reducing the enemy's missile capabilities.
