Ukraine is ready for new meetings with American officials. The proposal has already been conveyed to the US President's special envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, according to the evening address by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The head of state emphasized the need to work toward peace and seek options for appropriate actions. At the same time, he recalled that Ukraine supported US President Donald Trump's proposal for an energy ceasefire.
"Our team has sent the American side proposals for possible next meetings and further talks. We are ready to meet in the coming days, and I sent this proposal to Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner," added Zelenskyy.
Negotiations in Miami
According to media reports, the meeting of Ukrainian, American, and European delegations in Miami last week ended prematurely.
This occurred because US President Donald Trump announced an agreement with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the same day, under which he intended to purchase Russian diesel fuel.
Western publications write that such a deal came as a shock to both Ukrainian and European officials.
At the same time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that the US had effectively used the Ukrainian negotiating team as a front for its agreements with Russia.
Today, October 13, The New York Times, citing sources, reported that Witkoff and Kushner had postponed their planned visit to Moscow until Zelenskyy "mends relations with Trump."
