US President's special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are unlikely to travel to Moscow in the near future. The planned visit has been postponed, according to The New York Times.

As the NYT reports, the disagreements between Ukraine and the US against the backdrop of the diesel deal between President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin have escalated into the biggest crisis since the Oval Office scandal last year.

An unnamed US official told the publication that Trump is so angry with Ukraine that it is difficult to say what actions he might take.

Sources at the NYT also report that Witkoff and Kushner have postponed their planned trip to Russia until Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy mends relations with Trump.

Russia-US diesel deal

Last week, US President Donald Trump announced that he had reached an agreement with Russian leader Vladimir Putin on the supply of Russian diesel fuel to the US.

This came after the American leader repeatedly accused Ukraine of causing global fuel price increases due to strikes on Russian oil refineries.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called the Trump administration's decision weak. He emphasized that the money Russia receives from the Americans will be directed toward weapons production.

In turn, Trump stated that it was supposedly time for Ukraine to hold presidential elections and replace Zelenskyy.
