Ukraine is hoping to receive new Patriot missiles from Germany as soon as possible. Discussions on this critical issue are underway, according to a statement from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy following his meeting with German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius.

Zelenskyy briefed Pistorius on Russian attacks targeting critical infrastructure in virtually every region of Ukraine.
"There are numerous strikes on our energy infrastructure every day, and the situation with ballistic missiles is particularly challenging due to the chronic shortage of Patriot interceptors. It is important to find new solutions to help protect lives," he said.
Zelenskyy recalled that Ukraine has a substantial contract to purchase German-made PAC-2 missiles for the next two years.
"We are working to accelerate deliveries. This would significantly help Ukrainians get through this winter," the president said.
The head of state noted that German leadership had repeatedly helped "protect thousands upon thousands of lives."
"We agreed that our teams would explore this possibility and other issues we discussed, including IRIS-T and munitions for F-16s," he added.
RBC-Ukraine previously reported that on November 3, a Ukrainian delegation led by the president arrived in Berlin. Meetings with German leaders are planned to discuss strengthening Ukraine's air defenses and supporting its energy sector.
In addition, the United States approved a possible sale of 500 PAC-3 interceptor missiles to Ukraine, worth $2.1 billion. However, these missiles may not arrive for several years.
