The Ukrainian delegation in the United States will discuss on December 4 the modified version of the American peace plan prepared in Geneva. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will make the final decision after the discussions, according to Oleksandr Bevz, Presidential Office adviser.

According to him, during the meeting in Florida, the Ukrainian delegation discussed with US representatives the document prepared in Geneva. In essence, this is a modified US peace plan that already incorporates Ukraine's proposals.

"The discussions in Miami were productive, including on the plan's problematic points. The work continues, and the document remains dynamic," Bevz noted.

Regarding the new meeting in Florida, National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andrii Hnatov want to receive information about US presidential envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner's visit to the Kremlin, as well as feedback from Donald Trump.

After that, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will issue instructions to the negotiating team on all further steps. Key political issues are still planned to be discussed exclusively at the highest level, and Ukraine is ready for such talks.

"Public signals from Moscow remain ultimatum-like. The task of the Ukrainian team is to continue diplomatic and political work to achieve a sustainable peace despite this. However, diplomacy must be combined with pressure on the aggressor — sanctions must be strengthened, clear decisions are needed on using Russian assets to support Ukraine, and our long-range capabilities must be enhanced," Bevz said.

The adviser also highlighted the important role of Europe. Ukraine, he added, communicates actively with European partners every day to fully involve them in the peace negotiation process.

On December 4, President Zelenskyy confirmed that NSDC Secretary Rustem Umerov and Armed Forces Chief Andrii Hnatov had flown to the United States for talks with the American delegation. The meeting is expected to take place on the same day.

US peace plan

Donald Trump's Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, together with the US President's son-in-law Jared Kushner, arrived in Moscow on December 2 and discussed the updated peace plan with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

After the meeting, Putin’s adviser Yuri Ushakov said there was still no compromise, but work was continuing. Later, Putin's spokesperson Dmitry Peskov claimed the Kremlin had not rejected the US proposals.

According to media reports, Witkoff and Kushner briefed Trump on a "productive" meeting in Moscow. Details were not disclosed, but Trump told reporters that, according to his envoys, Putin wants to end the war. On December 4, Witkoff and Kushner are scheduled to hold another round of talks with the head of the Ukrainian delegation, Rustem Umerov.
