The situation in Transnistria is a standard information program that doesn't affect anyone today, states advisor to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Mykhailo Podolyak.

"There is no escalation and there will not be in this direction. These appeals absolutely make no sense. They made a propagandistic statement, but logistically Russia has no chance of getting there," explains Podolyak.

He notes that the events that occurred today do not cause concern in Moldova, Ukraine, or the European Union.

"Will this have any informational consequences? Yes, Russia will use it for a few days. These are standard information programs. They don't affect anyone today," he adds.

Earlier, information appeared in the media that deputies of Transnistria during the congress on February 28 would allegedly ask Putin for accession to Russia.

Today, deputies of the so-called Transnistrian Moldovian Republic appealed to Russia for protection amid the "increased pressure from Moldova."

Representative of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Andrii Yusov, revealed that the appeal of the so-called Transnistrian Moldovian Republic to Russia for protection from Moldova was not the result that the Kremlin expected.
