The head of Ukraine’s Presidential Office, Kyrylo Budanov, said that China has profited massively from sanctions on Russia but has not delivered a single weapon to the country at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

He explained that Beijing took advantage of the tightening sanctions on Moscow, as well as Russia’s need for modern controllers and microchips.

"China figured out how to capitalize on this, and Russia found a reliable partner for electronics, machinery, various materials used to produce weapon components," Budanov said.

He added that for China, this was an opportunity to earn extra profits, as Russia was paying far more than other countries. At the same time, Beijing was increasing its influence over Moscow by exploiting the impact of Western sanctions.

"The harder sanctions hit from the outside, the more Russia fell into China’s hands. And now everyone can see that openly," he said.

Budanov added that China is now absorbing Russia, and "it’s painful for the Russians to admit." Moreover, despite an exchange of military technology between the two countries, China has still not provided Russia with a single weapon.

Recently, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that China is not showing any willingness to participate in a peaceful resolution of the war. Beijing’s actions, he said, only strengthen Russia’s financial ability to continue its aggression.

According to Zelenskyy, China has significantly increased its imports of Russian energy resources, becoming the country’s largest buyer. The revenue from these energy exports is being used to fund the war.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump said that "NATO is not feared by Russia or China at all. Not even a little bit". However, he emphasized that these countries are "extremely" afraid of the US only because the American leader allegedly created an army.
