Russia is ramping up its airstrikes on Ukraine, while the pressure on Moscow remains inadequate, as evidenced by the ongoing daily attacks, states Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Telegram.

"The pressure on Russia is still insufficient, and the daily Russian strikes on Ukraine prove it. Last night — ballistic missiles targeting Kyiv, attack drones striking the region. They also hit Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi, and Cherkasy regions," the president stated.

He emphasized that the number of Russian air attacks is increasing. According to Zelenskyy, this demonstrates Russia’s true intentions — to continue its terror as long as the world allows it.

Last week, Russian forces fired more than 1,460 guided aerial bombs, nearly 670 attack drones, and over 30 missiles of various types at Ukraine, including more than 20 missiles last night, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated.

"Every strike targets our people, our children. They are waging war against children playing on playgrounds. My condolences to the families and loved ones of those killed. I thank all our emergency services for their efforts in rescuing and assisting Ukrainians," the president emphasized.

Zelenskyy believes that such attacks are Russian dictator Vladimir Putin’s response to all international diplomatic efforts. He therefore calls for increased pressure on Moscow.

"Every partner — America, all of Europe, the entire world — has seen that Russia intends to continue fighting and killing. That is why there must be no easing of pressure. All efforts should be directed at ensuring security and bringing peace closer," the president added.

Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andrii Sybiha, also responded to the massive bombardment.

"In response to US proposals for a full ceasefire, Russia is only launching more missiles, drones, and bombs against Ukraine and its people. It is time to intensify pressure on Moscow," Sybiha wrote on X.

Overnight attack on Ukraine on April 6

On the night of April 6, Russian forces launched a combined strike on Ukraine, firing 23 missiles and 109 drones. Ukrainian air defense forces intercepted and destroyed six Kh-101/Kh-55SM cruise missiles, six Kalibr cruise missiles, one Iskander-M ballistic missile, and 40 Shahed drones.

Mykolaiv and Sumy were targeted by drone strikes, while ballistic missiles were launched at Kyiv. As a result of the attack on the capital, one man was killed and three others were injured.
