Zelenskyy: Russia's logistics must suffer from deep strikes

Ukraine will focus on intensifying strikes on Russian logistics capabilities. Everything in Russia that works for the war should suffer from deep strikes - long-range attacks by Ukrainian attack drones, citing a post from President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy following a report by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi.
"The Commander-in-Chief also reported on our long-range strikes, particularly the frequency and effectiveness of deep strikes. Russian logistics must suffer significantly in response to Russia prolonging this war," the president noted.
According to him, the Armed Forces chief, the Minister of Defense, and the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council are currently working on requests for additional funding for the production of attack drones and supplies. This includes both drones for the frontline and those needed to protect cities.
"This includes both drones for the frontline and those needed to defend our cities and communities from Russian attack drones. The relevant additional contracts will be signed next week," Zelenskyy wrote.
Situation at the front
According to the president, the situation near Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region and in the Sumy region was discussed. In the Pokrovsk sector, the Russians are trying to actively use sabotage and reconnaissance groups and small infantry units to seize new positions.
"Ukrainian units are employing all necessary means to detect and neutralize such enemy activity," Zelenskyy emphasized.
The situation in the border areas of the Sumy region is stable and under control. Ukrainian troops are repelling the attacks.
"I want to especially commend the 25th Separate Airborne Sicheslav Brigade for their actions specifically in the Pokrovsk sector, and the 225th Separate Assault Regiment and the 80th Separate Air Assault Galician Brigade for their defense of the Sumy region," the president summarized.
Drone attacks on Russia
Residents of Moscow and the Moscow region reported more drone attacks on July 20. Explosions were heard in Zelenograd and the village of Goluboye.
On the night of July 19, explosions were heard in Moscow and Rostov-on-Don amid drone attacks. Moscow mayor Andrey Sobyanin claimed that the drones were shot down on their approach to the Russian capital. The UAV attack caused a collapse at airports in the Moscow region.
In the Russian city of Dmitrov, Russians reported that "something exploded in a field" amid the drone attack. The exact consequences of the attack were not reported.
