Russia has been striking Ukraine almost every night with various types of weapons. Over the past week alone, more than a thousand kamikaze drones, hundreds of air bombs, and dozens of missiles have been launched, targeting residential areas and energy infrastructure, according to a statement by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"Almost every night, Russia attacks our people with different types of weapons. Since yesterday evening, strikes have hit communities in the Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, and Odesa regions. Sadly, there are dead and wounded. My condolences go out to everyone who lost loved ones because of these attacks," the president said.
He noted that Russia used nearly 1,500 attack drones, 1,170 guided air bombs, and more than 70 missiles of various types to strike targets across Ukraine just this week.
There were confirmed hits on residential buildings, civilian infrastructure, and multiple terrorist attacks on the energy sector.
"I thank everyone who helps in the aftermath of these attacks — our rescuers who are always quick to respond, energy workers, doctors, and all emergency services," he emphasized.
He added that Moscow’s goal is to harm Ukrainian civilians above all.
"That’s why we’re working hard to ensure reliable support for our energy sector this winter. We’ve already reached concrete agreements with our partners. Through contributions to the Energy Support Fund or by providing essential equipment, we are already receiving help from the US, Norway, Germany, the Netherlands, Canada, the United Kingdom, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, Denmark, Sweden, Estonia, Spain, and the European Commission. We are grateful to everyone standing with Ukraine!" Zelenskyy concluded.
It is worth noting that Russian losses over the past 24 hours amounted to nearly 1,000 personnel.
Ukrainian forces also destroyed four armored combat vehicles, 25 artillery systems, 348 drones, and 121 units of Russian military vehicles.
Meanwhile, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) reported today that it carried out a series of precise night strikes on Russian ammunition depots and bases in the temporarily occupied territories.
