Russia is redeploying air defense systems to Moscow and the area around the Crimean Bridge, significantly weakening protection in other sectors, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
What intelligence revealed
According to the president, Ukrainian intelligence has obtained internal Russian documents assessing the impact of Ukraine's long-range strikes.
The documents also detail measures being taken by Russian authorities in response, Zelenskyy said.
Where Russia is moving its air defenses
"One such measure is the redeployment of air defense systems from Russian regions to Moscow and to the Crimean Bridge," Zelenskyy stated.
According to him, these two areas have been designated by Russian leadership as top priorities for protection.
"Basically, these are the two perimeters the Russians have been ordered to protect by weakening other areas on their own territory and in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine," the president said.
What else was discussed
Zelenskyy also said he received a briefing on the state of Russia's missile production and strategic aviation capabilities.
According to the president, Ukraine is preparing new responses to Russia's continued war and attacks on Ukrainian territory.
He stressed that Ukraine has already presented its diplomatic proposals and placed responsibility for prolonging the war on the Russian leadership.
Attacks on Moscow
Attacks on the Russian capital have intensified in recent weeks.
On June 18, Ukrainian drones struck the Moscow oil refinery in Kapotnya, triggering a major fire at the facility.
The attack was described as the largest on Moscow in the past two years, with residents in some districts complaining of an "oil rain."
The following day, attacks on the capital continued. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin claimed that around 35 drones had been shot down.
