Today, June 19, drones are attacking Moscow for the second day in a row. Local authorities are regularly reporting on air defense operations in the skies over the Russian capital, according to Andrii Kovalenko, head of Ukraine's Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council.
Kovalenko responds to the latest drone attacks on Moscow and states that the war that Vladimir Putin unleashed against Ukraine is increasingly being felt in Russia itself.
"Stability in Moscow now depends on the presence of drones in the sky, since the Russians and Muscovites chose Putin, who brought the war to their homes," he emphasizes.

Attack on Moscow continues
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin regularly reports on the operation of air defense systems and the fall of debris from downed targets.
Initially, he stated that air defense forces had allegedly shot down 15 drones heading toward the Russian capital. Later in the day, Sobyanin announced the destruction of four more drones.
At around 12:50 p.m. local time, the mayor of Moscow reported that three more drones heading toward the Russian capital had been shot down.
In total, according to him, air defense forces have allegedly destroyed 35 drones approaching the Russian capital since the start of the day.
Attack on Moscow on June 18
On the morning of June 18, swarms of drones launched a massive attack on Moscow. According to Mayor Sobyanin, Russian air defense forces allegedly shot down nearly 200 drones.
During the attack, the Moscow oil refinery in Kapotnya was struck again. A massive fire broke out on the refinery’s grounds with several separate fire pockets, and thick black smoke engulfed the city.
Due to the threat in the air, Moscow implemented the so-called Plan Carpet. Operations at all Moscow airports were paralyzed, and over 500 flights were canceled in total.
Following the strikes on Moscow, the Russian stock market crashed. Shares of Gazprom, Rosneft, and Lukoil plummeted in value.
