Ukraine's Armed Forces are now in a better position to deploy manpower than they were a few months ago. Their new offensive depends on the supply of weapons to Ukraine, says President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an interview with Bloomberg.

Zelenskyy rejected the opinion of a deadlock between Ukrainian and Russian forces on the battlefield. He says that the Ukrainian military has a better manpower position than a few months ago, and the new offensive depends on the armament of the brigades.

The president also praised the $61 billion aid package approved by the US Congress this year but stressed that military equipment was taking too long to reach the front.

"This is the biggest tragedy of this war, that between the decision and real fact, we have a real long, long, long wait," Zelenskyy said.

Russia's repeated offensive

In early May of this year, Russian troops broke through the border in the north of the Kharkiv region, capturing several settlements and entering Vovchansk.

On the eve of Russia's renewed offensive, Ukraine again began receiving military aid from the United States. Before that, Congress had not voted on a bill to help Kyiv for months.

Analysts at the Institute for the Study of War said that Russia was forced to launch a second offensive in Ukraine earlier than it had planned. The reason is the resumption of the US aid.

Later, the United States confirmed the permission to use American weapons on Russian territory near the Kharkiv and Sumy regions of Ukraine.
