Zelenskyy commented on the US position on negotiations with Russia. He also spoke about Russia's ultimatums to hand over four regions of Ukraine at a meeting with journalists on May 27.

Zelenskyy said that there are currently no signals that the United States is ready to withdraw from the negotiation process on Ukraine.

He emphasized that the United States continues to play an important role in supporting Ukraine, both diplomatically and through sanctions pressure on Russia.

"We would not want the United States to withdraw from this process. So far, the United States has been conducting, firstly, diplomatic work, and secondly, sanctions work," Zelenskyy emphasized.

According to the President of Ukraine, it does not matter what exactly is stated in such ultimatums if it is not about formalities, but about a possible way to a ceasefire.

"I think that even at the highest level, the United States of America today will not support Ukraine's withdrawal from the territories where Ukraine is located," the President said.

He noted that Ukraine does not consider the possibility of withdrawing from its territories and expects further support from its partners in this matter.

Possible US withdrawal from peace talks

Earlier, US President Donald Trump confirmed that Washington may refuse to participate in peace talks on Ukraine if one of the parties to the conflict impedes peace.

However, Trump also said that he saw enthusiasm on both sides and made a new statement about the chances for peace in Ukraine.
