Zelenskyy receives report from Ukraine's army chief regarding situation on front line
Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, has provided a report on the situation at the front and the needs of Ukrainian troops, announces President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his address.
According to Zelenskyy, Syrskyi is currently on the front lines, where he is directly assessing the specific needs and situation in each sector with combat brigades and at various locations.
"It is very important that commanders at all levels—from the highest to the field level—maintain direct contact with the front line and be physically present with the soldiers carrying out the most challenging tasks. Much has already been done in this regard, and I am grateful to every commander who is truly with their soldiers," the president stated.
Earlier, the General Staff reported that Russian forces are attempting to break through the defense lines in the Siversk direction. Despite this, Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding back the advance of the Russian army.
Additionally, at the beginning of August, the Institute for the Study of War reported that Russian troops are making advances near Kupiansk, Svatove, Chasiv Yar, Toretsk, and in western Zaporizhzhia region.
