In the early hours of July 6, Russian forces launched two drone attacks on Kharkiv. As a result of the strikes, fires were reported, and a residential area was likely hit, according to the channels of Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov and Regional Governor Oleh Syniehubov.

The first wave of the Russian drone attack occurred around 1:00 AM Kyiv time, followed by a second around 2:00 AM. Preliminary reports indicate that three districts, Kyivskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, and Novobavarskyi, were targeted. Each reportedly sustained strikes.

"There is preliminary information about a Russian drone strike on a residential area in the Novobavarskyi district. Details are being clarified," Mayor Ihor Terekhov stated.

After the second wave of attacks, Governor Oleh Syniehubov confirmed strikes in the Shevchenkivskyi district. According to him, fires broke out at the impact sites. At the time, no casualties had been reported.

"As a result of the attack on the Novobavarskyi district, a 46-year-old woman was injured. She is currently receiving all necessary medical assistance," the governor reported at 2:39 AM Kyiv time.

Oleh Syniehubov reported that the number of injured in Kharkiv has risen to two.

"As a result of the strike in the Shevchenkivskyi district, a 2.8-month-old girl suffered an acute stress reaction. She is also receiving the necessary medical assistance," he clarified.

In June, Kharkiv recorded the highest monthly number of air attacks since the start of the full-scale war.

It was also reported that Russian forces recently used a new type of drone, the Chernika, for the first time in a strike on Kharkiv.
